U14 Athletes:

GS skis do not have a minimum length, but must have a 17m radius or greater
SG and DH do not have a minimum length, but must have a 17m radius or greater
U12 and younger athletes:
If racing and participating in speed camps: SL and GS skis are highly recommended
U10:
1 pair of skis is sufficient for this group. Head height with a variation based on height, weight, and skill level.
Proper fit is critical for racing and training. The boot should be snug all around without any excessive play or movement in the heal, toe box, or around the cuff.
U12: Soft forward flex for ankle movement to facilitate a balanced athletic stance.
U14 and older: Proper boot fit and flex are critical for performance. Boots facilitate interaction with the ski. Performance considerations may include flex, cant, forward lean, ramp angle, and foot beds.
U10: Standard length = forearm horizontal with pole tip in snow. Or in the shop invert the pole and hold it under the basket.
U12 and older (when gate training begins):
GS - standard length or a little longer.
SL - add pole guard for blocking and protection, pole may be slightly shorter.
You can use one set of poles and add/remove the pole guard as needed.
Helmets are required at all times.
U14 and older: Event specific protection will be necessary.
Speed-suits are not required but typically worn during races. To facilate an easy transition from warm gear to being race ready at the start area - pants with full length side zippers, preferably without suspenders. Warm jacket that can drape easily over shoulders.
Helmets: FIS compliant (with sticker), one helmet without soft ears can be used in SL (chin guard added) and GS (chin guard removed). Cameras and camera mounts are not permitted.
Shin guards and pole guards are required for SL.
Other things to consider: Back protector, arm guards, and a mouth guard.
